Seswaa (Shredded Beef)

Ingredients:

  • • 2 lbs (about 1 kg) beef (preferably chuck or brisket), cut into chunks
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-2 cups beef broth or water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  • • Cook the Beef:
    • In a large pot, add the beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Add enough broth or water to cover the meat.
  • Simmer:
    • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 2-3 hours, or until the beef is tender and easily shredded. Add water as needed to keep the meat covered.
  • Shred the Beef:
    • Once cooked, remove the beef from the pot and shred it using two forks. Return it to the pot and mix with the cooking liquid to keep it moist.
  • Serve:
    • Serve the shredded beef hot alongside pap, garnished with fresh herbs if desired
